Does the coffee filter trick work? I have never thought to do that. Normally yes; it filters out algae, leftover food, and anything else in the tank. As long as you feed a bit to compensate for removing all the food, it's typically fine. Unfortunately for me and this particular kit, it's not gone very well. I'm not entirely sure what happened, but I had a colony crash and all but one of the little guys died overnight. I'll continue documenting as long as the survivor, well, survives. I also plan to try again later this year (it has to wait a bit as I'm planning for a road trip at the moment). Side note: I had no idea you could post to this board as a guest. :o |
